Partnership for Impact to Eliminate TB and Malaria

India Health Fund (IHF) was launched in 2016 by Tata Trusts in partnership with The Global Fund, with the mission of combating infectious diseases like TB and Malaria, two most pressing public health challenges in India. IHF envisages to be a robust platform and build a movement towards garnering support towards “India for India” with active partnership from government and domestic leaders in private sector, high net worth individuals and philanthropists.

On 17 January 2018 IHF hosted the ‘Partnership for Impact to Eliminate TB and Malaria’ The event was honored by Shri Amitabh Kant, Niti Aayog, wh0 spoke n Enabling India to TB and India free. The keynote addresses was given by Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, DDG – WHO, who focused on the challenges of TB and Malaria and opportunities that India Health Fund has. Shri Manoj Jhalani, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, rendered the second keynote address and emphasized on India’s mandate to fight TB and Malaria aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals and assured GoI’s support to India Health Fund. 50 private sector companies and bilateral development agencies participated.

Two panel discussions focusing on ‘Strategies Needed Today for a Secure Tomorrow’ and ‘Disruptive Innovations for Disease Elimination’ were organized. 10 eminent personalities working on different aspects of TB and Malaria, were part of the panel, who drew attention to the pressing challenges and shared good practices from around the world and especially from developing countries to bring about change in the TB and Malaria landscape in the country.

At the close of the event IHF announced the launch of RFP 2.0, its second call for proposals towards innovations in TB and Malaria.
